“If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children.” – Mohandes Ghandi

According to Childhelp’s national child abuse statistics; over 3 million reports of child abuse are made every year in the United States, about 30% of abused and neglected children will later abuse their own children, 59% are more likely to be arrested as a juvenile, 28% more likely to be arrested as an adult, and 30% are more likely to commit violent crime. Why should you care? Because if we don’t do something about this epidemic, how can the world we live in ever be a better place? It begins with our children.

Tiaina Baul “Junior” Seau, former American football linebacker, established The Junior Seau Foundation in 1992 with a mission to educate and empower young people through the support of child abuse prevention, drug and alcohol awareness, recreational opportunities, anti-juvenile delinquency efforts and complimentary educational programs. Since the start of the program, the Foundationstated that they have allocated over $4 million to organizations providing services to children and young adults and was ranked the 13th largest Professional Athlete Foundation (based on assets) by the Wall Street Journal, on April 28, 2007.

Following the Foundation’s inception, the annual Junior Seau’s Legends Party was created with the purpose of raising funds for San Diego’s youth in support of the Foundation’s mission. Last night, Rezident Management had the honor of presenting San Diego with the 20th Annual Legends Party at Seau’s Restaurant in Mission Valley. Not only was the party the spot to be at last night, but the Rezidents are proud to say; “We did it for our children in San Diego.”

If you didn’t purchase your tickets on time to get on Junior Seau’s guestlist, you definitely missed out on a great opportunity to meet some of your favorite NFL players, the Rezident Management team, and a networking opportunity to link up with other advocates of The Junior Seau Foundation cause, and the like.

This multi-facet party was packed with legends, party-goers, a variety of food and beverages, and some of the best entertainment that occurred in San Diego last night. The house was filled from the Legends Room on the mezzanine level down to the Sushi Bar & Lounge on the northwest side of the restaurant.

Love food? The Annual Legends Party did not disappoint. From 7pm till 10pm, attendees were treated to a variety of food and beverages provided by various San Diego restaurants. Chinese, Mexican, Italiano, Greek, you name it, somewhere in this over 14,500 square foot restaurant someone had exactly what you needed to satisfy your taste buds and weekend thirst.

What’s a party without music and dancing? To start off the party right, DJ Riddims began the set with some Island Reggae and some of our West Coast hip-hop and rap artists like E-40, Too Short, and many more. Following DJ Riddims, DJ Showtime killed it with his video dee-jaying skills on over 60 high definition flat screen TV’s and a huge 12 x 14 foot projection screen. Artwork by Monty Montgomery was available for viewing throughout the venue. The unprecedented skills of DJ Noel 2033, combined with Chuck Prada on percussion, live painting by Monty Montgomery, and some of San Diego’s best go-go dancers, completed the entertainment for the night. If you went elsewhere for your party or entertainment in San Diego last night, you sold yourself short.

The real question is “Why Not?”. Not only do you get to bump elbows with some of your favorite NFL players, eat some of the best food San Diego has to offer, and shake what your momma gave you to the best entertainment in San Diego provided by Rezident Management; but also, you would be supporting one of the greatest causes in our world today, our children.

As mentioned earlier, over 3 million reports of child abuse are made every year in the United States (Childhelp, National Child Abuse Statistics). Why should you care? Because if we don’t do something about this epidemic, how can the world we live in ever be a better place? It begins with our children. So why not support the cause for our children, while having fun at the Annual Legends Party?

Rezident Management is proud to say; “We did it for our children in San Diego”. We extend a very humble thank you to Junior Seau for choosing Rezident Management to present the 20th Anniversary of the Annual Legends Party last night.

“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.” – Nelson Mandela
